Gallery
As
in the case of many people, our pets are an important part of our lives.
This gallery has some shots of our two Collie dogs and our cat Penelope,
a recent addition to the family. Photographing animals, even in controlled
situations, as in the case of house pets, can be a demanding, although
rewarding experience. Our Collie dogs, Mac (Smooth or Short Haired)
and Kelsey (Rough Collie) were both adopted from the Okanagan Collie
Rescue service having been saved from abusive situations. An intelligent
and sensitive breed, these dogs have impressed us with their affection
and focus on people. In many ways the adoption process was at their
initiative, especially in Mac's case as he was reticent to approach
prospective humans while at the foster home. That was until Bev showed
up, whereupon, this dog that had established a reputation of shyness
with human visitors, ran up to her as she sat down jumped on her lap,
put his two paws of her shoulders and licked her face. Needless to say
he came home with her that night.

state this is a common pose for Kelsey. |
