The Naden
Band plays the national anthem at the opening game of the 2004
Memorial Cup. The band was a much complimented addition to the
initial Memorial Cup ceremonies such as the parade and the opening
game. They were impressive repesentatives of Canada's Navy through
their musical skill and naval pomp and ceremony.

A frame from
a segment of the "Drafted!! -Hockey in the Canadian Forces"
display video. The video included segments from army games overseas
in the 1940s and more contemporary hockey themed videos of Canadian
Forces members serving Canada overseas. This video segment was filmed
in 2001 at sea aboard the Canadian Patrol Frigates HMCS WINNIPEG and
CHARLOTTETOWN while on patrol in the Arabian Gulf. The short video
took a humourous look at the importance of hockey to the morale of
the ships companies and was aired on "Coach's Corner" during
the final game of the Stanley Cup that year. The video was produced
and shot by the Canadian Forces J5 Public Affairs Combat Camera Team.

Visitors to
the museum display enjoy the Canadian Forces hockey themed video
presentation that was part of the museum display. The video presentation
was a compilation of footage from various eras dated back to the
1940s. It highlighted the continuing linkage of hockey to the
Canadian Forces including post-war games in Europe between Canadian
Army and local teams, the ongoing RMC/West Point challenge and
Canadian soldiers playing road hockey with local children in Eritrea
and amongst themselves in Bosnia in a humourous video short (both
show on "Coach's Corner).
