Description:
Dubrovnik is an ancient port city on the Adriatic coastline of Croatia. The city has experienced a variety of transitions in its development with the ebb and flow of history, most recently during the civil conflict in the former Yugoslavia of the 1990s. Through it all the city has survived and retains its appeal and charm.
I visited Dubrovnik while on leave from service with the peacekeeping forces in Bosnia-Herzegovina and thought it a visually appealing subject for a painting.
